Work on replacing the East roof at St. Nicholasā church commenced as planned in October, with a scaffolding structure now in place allowing work to proceed whatever the weather. If the project remains on schedule, the new roof will be unveiled by Christmas.
The contractors are removing the worn out copper laminate panels and failed substrate before installing a new substrate with a thermal barrier to improve the insulation and reduce energy consumption. Thanks to the generous donation from HENRA members and everyone who has contributed to raising the Ā£67,000 needed to complete this work, it is hoped that the new zinc roof will be unveiled in time for Christmas.
